AnestAssist™ PK/PD version 1.3 is now available for download and update on the App Store. This release extends inhaled agent modeling to include vaporizer and fresh gas control, and additional agents (sevoflurane, isoflurane, desflurane, enflurane, halothane, and nitrous oxide)  This is a free upgrade for current owners.

AnestAssist™ 1.3 iPhone Application

AnestAssist™ 1.1 on the iPhone

AnestAssist™ PK/PD is an educational tool used for understanding and visualizing the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and interactions of commonly used anesthetic drugs.

Anesthesiologists, CRNA's and other clinicians involved with anesthesiology, from residents to the very experienced, will find AnestAssist a valuable tool for understanding and designing rational dosing strategies tailored to individual patients.

Mathematical models published by clinical researchers, which take into account patient weight, age and gender, are used to estimate and chart:

  • Plasma concentration (IV Drugs)
  • Alveolar concentration (Inhaled drugs)
  • Effect site concentration
  • Probability of effect (including interactions):
  • Analgesia: No response to laryngoscopy
  • Sedation: OAA/S < 2
AnestAssist™ 1.1 on the iPhone

IV drugs modeled: Propofol, Remifentanil, Fentanyl, Alfentanil, and Sufentanil.

Inhaled agents modeled: Sevoflurane, Isoflurane, Desflurane, Enflurane, Halothane, and Nitrous Oxide

Interactions modeled: Propofol or Sevoflurane with any combination of Remifentanil, Fentanyl, Alfentanil, or Sufentanil.

Case Library: Save actual cases or design and add your own cases to the library to record and demonstrate dosing strategies for a variety of patient types and drugs.

"AnestAssist helped me bridge the gap between abstract mathematical textbook training and real world application of PK/PD theory."

"AnestAssist gave me new insight into the guidelines and rules of thumb I've used for years. I like the idea of putting more science into the art of anesthesia."
